“Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell is the poem is about how many things in the environment are being taken away, and not coming back. The mood of the story is sad and depressing. I think this because she says you don’t know what you have until its gone and all the plants and animals are gone. Then she says they took my old man and she won’t get to see him again because she doesn’t know where he is going. I feel like she wants to give up but she can’t cause she wants to know what’s going to happen.

This song is about a person that lives in a big city and can’t see the forest or any wild life. They are depressed because they can’t see anything knew or experience anything. She lives in a big sky scrapper and she can’t see her old friend because she gone. I think these poems are a like in many ways because they’re both sad and depressing. They both talk about how they lost something and they want to get it back but can’t get it. I think they try to reach their goals but are not succeeding them. They trying so hard and want to make things right
